Bible Study for Women
The Women's Bible Study (formerly known as Morning Circle) meets on the second Tuesday of each month, from 9:30-11:00 am in the church's Memorial Library. The 2008/2009 study uses Horizon's Bible Study: Jubilee! Luke's Gospel for the Poor. All women of the church are invited. If you need a copy of the study book, please contact Joan Jackson.
Shirley Gretzinger is also hosting a Bible study, at her home, the second Tuesday of each month, at 7:30 PM. The study makes use of Sinclair Ferguson's book, Deserted by God.
Sunday School:
September - May 9:00 - 9:50 a.m.
We Believe curriculum used in all children & youth classes.
Toddlers: Ages 2 - 5. Meets in nursery on main floor.
Primary: Kindergarten - 3rd grade. Meets in classroom on top floor.
Elementary: 4th - 6th grade. Meets in classroom on top floor.
Jr./Sr. High: 7th - 12th grade. Meets in classroom on top floor. Begins in Fall 2008.
Young Adults: to age 40. Meets in lounge, downstairs. Varied curriculum. Focus on topical discussion & life lessons.
Personal Growth - Adults Class: all adults welcome. Meets in classroom downstairs. Varied curriculum. Focus on book studies.

Scholarships: Hester Wood taught for many years at Peru High School, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She loved the Lord, and this church. She was also a strong proponent of higher education. She established the Wood-Wilson Scholarship, to provide financial assistance to high school graduates in Peru, who are members of First Presbyterian Church, Peru, Indiana. The Dunckinson-Lyndon Memorial Scholarship was established to provide equal assistance to members of our church who are graduates of high schools other than PHS. The Wood-Wilson Scholarship and the Dunckinson-Lyndon Memorial Scholarship have provided financial assistance to many in our church family, helping to offset the high cost of a college education. The scholarships are awarded each year, at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters. Scholarships must be re-applied for, each year of eligibility. Applications for the Wood-Wilson Scholarship and the Dunckinson-Lyndon Memorial Scholarship are available in the church office, or can be downloaded from the church website, www.fpcperu.org, on the “Christian Education” page. Applications must be received by December 15, 2008. They can be delivered to the church office, sent in by mail, to First Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Main St., Peru, IN 46970, or sent by email or fax to the clerk: clerk@fpcperu.org; Fax- (630) 929-8562. Scholarships will be awarded during the worship service on December 21st.
